About the Farm
Plane Meadow is a small-scale, intensive farm located in the heart of Tivoli, NY. We specialize in growing high quality produce for chefs and retail outlets in the mid-Hudson Valley.
Growing on 2 acres, we strive to maximize our production utilizing sustainable practices. We rely on rotations, compost, cover cropping, and organic fertilizers to keep our soil resilient.
What We Grow
Our chore crops include salad mix, a vibrant array of chicories, tomatoes large and small, unique pepper varieties,
cut greens, fresh beans, and
a selection of roots.
We select our crops with an eye to flavor and in conjunction with the chefs we collaborate with.
How the Farm Started
The farm was established by the late artist Brice Marden and his wife Helen Marden, the proprietors of the Hotel Tivoli.
The farm was envisioned to be the primary produce provider for the hotel’s restaurant, The Corner. We partner with their chef to provide them with exceptional, seasonal, hyper-local produce.
Over the years, the farm has expanded and now sells to a wide range of high end, local restaurants and retail outlets.
Farm Expansion
Over the past several years we have added nearly 12,000 square feet of covered growing space. The addition of tunnels has expanded our vegetable offerings in the early spring and late fall. In the summer these tunnels are home to many of our tomatoes and numerous varieties of fresh beans.
